Off The Grid exists for one reason: to give independent designers a place to sell without competing against brands, resellers, or scaled operations. Every person on this platform makes what they sell. That is not a tagline. It is a requirement.

The verification system is the platform. Before anyone lists anything, their business classification is reviewed and their customer volume is checked against a threshold. If they have grown beyond what an independent maker looks like, they do not belong here. That check happens at onboarding and repeats annually.

The threshold

The threshold is not public. It is calibrated to exclude operations that have scaled beyond the point where one person's hands are still in the work. It is not a judgment on success — it is a definition of what this platform is for. Designers who grow past it exit gracefully. Their studio number stays with them. Their history on the platform stays visible.
